This special piece was created on a vintage Japanese photograph. The visual imagery was inspired by Midsommar, used to create quiet tension between the two figures, gazing at the other expectantly. "Hime" means princess in Japanese or a daughter of noble-birth, which could represent one or both of the figures in the photograph.
Embroidery was created by hand, directly onto the photograph, using French cotton embroidery thread and hand-dyed silk thread.
The vintage photograph measures about 3.25"x5.25" and will arrive unframed. The threads have been slightly stiffened to maintain its structure and ease framing. The piece will be signed and dated on the back in pencil.
Please note: As this is a vintage photo, there is some wear and damage on the edges and corners, as depicted in the images.
