Hanami

An attempt to recreate the glorious magic of cherry blossoms during beautiful springtime. The blossoms are made up of hundreds of the tiniest French knots in soft shades of pink, rose and cream, layered to create depth.

The embroidery is created directly onto the postcard using French cotton embroidery thread and hand-dyed silk thread. The original image depicts a group celebrating hanami, by enjoying each other's company underneath the cherry blossoms at Koganei.

The vintage postcard measures 3.5"x5.5" and will arrive unframed. The artwork will be signed and dated in pencil on the back. A certificate of authenticity is included.

Please note, this postcard features discoloration, rubbed corners and damaged edges due to its age (early 1900s), as captured in the images.

Although I try to edit the photos to reflect the actual color of the artwork as best as possible, colors may vary in person, as every monitor or screen has a different capability to display colors and everyone perceives colors differently.
