Canyon train

This piece is part of my Train Series, which reimagines the dramatic plumes of vintage locomotives as swirling, colorful clouds. It transforms the iconic exhaust into a dynamic and fluid representation of movement, infusing it with a playful and vibrant energy.

The embroidery is carefully hand-stitched directly onto the vintage postcard using high-quality French cotton threads and hand-dyed silk threads, which create both texture and depth.

The postcard dates back to the early 1920s and depicts a train entering a canyon tunnel in the Northwest. It measures approximately 3.5" x 5" and will be presented in a complimentary custom-made blue frame, designed to keep the threads in place while allowing for subtle movement. Should you decide to reframe the piece in the future, the threads can be gently rearranged to your preference. The artwork is signed and dated in pencil on the back.

Please note: Due to the postcard's vintage nature, there is some natural wear along the edges and corners, as depicted in the images.

Additionally, this piece is offered at a slight discount due to slight discoloration on the matboard at the bottom of the frame. If you would prefer a new mat, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Please note that this will delay shipping by approximately one month.
